During this summer, I've started studying a new TTRPG based on the fantasy world of The Witcher. If you want to know more about this game, know that this is the game created by R. Talsorian Games in collaboration with CD Project RED, the producers of the critically acclaimed videogame.

I'm not going to talk much about the game itself here. Instead, I'll present you my creations, the ideas behind them and a description of the creative process.

The first thing I have done was creating the background of the character and compiling his character sheet. This immediately helped me creating an image in my mind of how the character should have been. The process of creation suggested in the book was also an amazing tool that I loved using exactly as it was described. It was a very random process where the dice was acting as main decisional factor.

When the character sheet was complete, the second step was to draw the character, following the characteristics assigned to him. So here you can see the final version of Dixroll, the human bard.

During the creation of the character sheet, I also realized I wanted to create a sort of unique characteristic for him. Something to make him even more recognisable and special.

To do so, I've created a special weapon that he travels with: a silver knife.

Creating a new object wasn't easy. Of course, I could have done it just assigning it some random characteristics, but I wanted it to be as plausible as possible in this fictional world. So, what I have done was assigning it some characteristics based on the comparison between already existing objects in the game. More specifically, I analysed the relationship between a steel sword and a silver sword and I've created the same relationship between a steel dagger and my new object.

This was an amazing exercise, it involved my skills as character concept artist and my skills as game designer to analyse some rules and create a coherent element within them.

Below, you can download the playable character sheet (italian version only) and the artwork. If you are a player, feel free to use them in your campaign! Good luck out there adventurer!
